Web2Print Experts Announces Web-to-Print Software Provider Research Resource

Web2Print Experts, a technology-independent Web and print consulting company based in San Francisco, has created a free online research tool, W2P Finder, to help printers and to Web-to-print software providers find each other. According to the press release, in order to create the resource, Web2Print Experts collected information about vendors and the software offerings. The user may opt to use a simple search tool to find the set of Web-to-print software providers that best fit the user's requirements. more

PRIMIR Releases Study on Selling Print Online

PRIMIR has released a new study, eCommerce & Print Business Models, based on research conducted by InfoTrends. The study examines how printers can use e-commerce to increase sales. The press release announcing the study says e-commerce (orders placed via the Web) shipments will increase from $17.4 billion in 2011 to $29.7 billion in 2016, for a five-year compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 11.3%. The study is available to current PRIMIR members. more

Agfa Graphics Launches :Apogee StoreFront 1.3

Agfa Graphics has released Version 1.3 of :Apogee StoreFront, its Cloud-based Web-to-print system. The company says Version 1.3 makes it easier for print buyers to customize print and offers the ability to create "microstores." Other new features in :Apogee StoreFront 1.3 include support for real-time UPS shipping cost quote, alarm levels for stock products, and an image library shared across all the customizable documents in the store. more

Mcor and Staples Announce Web-to-Print 3-D Printing Service

Mcor Technologies and Staples Printing Systems Division have announced a Web-to-print 3-D printing service: Staples Easy 3D. The two companies promise low-cost, brilliantly colored, photo-realistic 3-D printed products. Customers will be able to upload print files and pick up the 3-D print products at a nearby Staples store or have them shipped. Staples will produce the models with the Mcor IRIS. more

Schwabisch Media will install ppi Media’s Web-to-print OM portal solution on the Schwabisch Web store. more

Enfocus Switch 11 Extends Workflow to Web

Enfocus has announced an update to the Switch Web Services Module for Enfocus Switch 11  allowing users to build secure, browser-based interfaces into a Switch workflow environment for job submission, file upload, review, and approval. The company says this change allows any Web browser to act as a front-end to a Web-to-Print portal, document or digital asset management system, or any other process automated by Switch. Any file types can be uploaded into switch-based workflows for additional processing or format conversion, automated routing, insertion in internal print queues, etc. more

Pageflex Releases Pageflex 8.0

Pageflex has release Pageflex 8.0, the company's latest version of the Pageflex e-storefront software. The new version contains language version capabilities designed to allow uses to re-use the same storefront design across languages, cultures, and currencies. more

GamSys to Integrate Enfocus PitStop into Web-to-Print MIS

Enfocus has announced a technology partnership with MIS system developer GamSys to integrate PitStop 11 into the GamSys PartnerWeb Configuration and PartnerWeb Publication Web-to-print systems. more 

Blurb and CGX Announce Custom Publication Service

Publishing and marketing platform provider Blurb has announced a partnership with commercial printer Consolidated Graphics (CGX) to create custom publications. The new service, called Publish, uses a free Adobe InDesign plug-in and includes templates for four cover formats, five paper types, and eight trim sizes. more

Agfa Announces :Apogee StoreFront, a Web-to-print Service

Agfa Graphics has introduced :Apogee StoreFront, a Cloud-based software system designed to help print service providers market services and products over the Internet. This Web-to-print system automates the creation of online storefronts for printed and non-printed products. The service can either be used  for specific clients or as an open site. more 

Kodak Expands Web-to-Print Reseller Agreement

Kodak has expanded its reseller agreement with Online Print Solutions from North America only to a global relationship to sell Web-to-print tools. Kodak has been an authorized reseller of the full range of OPS Web-to-print and cross-media marketing systems in North America since early 2011. more 

Quark and Oberon Partner to Enhance Web-to-Print System

Quark and Oberon Technologies have joined forces to provide automated publishing and XML-based capabilities to Quark Web-to-Print System users. Oberon will provide installation services including consulting, deployment, configuration, customization, and end-user training as an extension to Quark’s professional services organization. more

Heidelberg and Pageflex Announce Web-to-Print System

At Graph Expo 2011 Pageflex announced Heidelberg has signed a worldwide OEM software agreement under which Heidelberg will license the Pageflex Storefront Web-to-print product, associated technologies from Bitstream, and custom development. Heidelberg will market the system under the name Prinect Web-to-Print Manager. The OEM agreement grants Heidelberg exclusive rights to sell the OEM product under licensed and software-as-a-service business models, as well as to sell related products from the Pageflex product line. more

Hybrid Software Announces Five-Piece Order Lifecycle Management Tool Chest

Hybrid Software Inc, formerly Hybrid Integration LLC, has announced five new products to support its order lifecycle management strategy. The new tools will be introduced at Graph Expo September 11-14 in Chicago. The Hybrid tool suite allows printers to manage all orders, through the traditional bidding process, Web-to-print portals, online search engines, computerized EDI procurement systems, and other sources. more

Heidelberg to Preview Web-to-Print System at Graph Expo

Heidelberg will preview its Prinect workflow system at Booth 1200 at Graph Expo. The demonstration will show the Prinect system for integrated production, color management, MIS, and its latest component, the Prinect Web-to-Print system, an electronic storefront for brand control, business growth opportunities, and managing internal processes. more
