HP has announced several new products
and tools for creating digitally printed wallcoverings including
tools for design, printing, and finishing. The company has also
announced the HP WallArt Solution, a Cloud-based design tool. more
HP has announced the first installations of the HP Indigo 10000 Digital Press beta system at Sandy Alexander in the United States, Old City Press in Israel, and Precision Printing in the U.K. After making this announcement at Graph Expo, the company also announced new HP SmartStream production workflow and management tools for managing complex jobs, a new color proofing bundles solution for the HP Inkjet Web Press family, and HP Hiflex cloud-based software including MIS and
Web-to-print. more
Hewlett-Packard has announced a multi-year restructuring effort scheduled to end in 2014 which involves the elimination of approximately 27,000 jobs, about 8% of the company's entire labor force. The company estimates the changes will help save the company several billion dollars. No details about how the restructuring might affect the HP Indigo division were released. more
HP Indigo has unveiled 10 new digital printing systems:
Three 29-inch-format HP Indigo presses designed to handle a broad range of commercial print jobs and packaging applications;
Three updated models of the current HP Indigo portfolio with higher speeds for significantly increased productivity;
Three high-productivity HP Inkjet Web Press models featuring advanced ink and printhead technology for high quality at increased print speeds; and
HP Print Module Solutions for adding monochrome or full-color content to preprinted offset materials.
HP also announced new options for HP Scitex industrial presses used for large sign and display applications and a range of new services and solutions to complement the company's portfolio of digital systems. The new systems will be in the drupa HP Indigo booth. more
Hewlett-Packard has announced major upgrades to its three-year-old MagCloud self-publishing Web service. MagCloud now supports a digest-sized 5.5” X 8.5” format and has a streamlined publishing process to make it easier for publishers to produce a finished publication. The company has also added a MagCloud Newsstand app for the HP Touchpad. more
Hewlett-Packard has introduced a new upgrade package for the HP Scitex XP2300 Printer designed for high-volume printers interested in a UV-curable alternative to solvent ink printing. Customers who install the upgrade will receive support through HP Scitex Print Care. more
Hewlett-Packard has introduce a 42" digital color press designed to support mass customization in printing by combining the personalization features of digital printing with the efficiencies of high-volume production. Providing a maximum 600 foot/minute (183 meter/minute) speed, the HP T400 Color Inkjet Web Press prints up to 5,200 full-color, letter-size pages per minute. The first HP T400 has been installed at O’Neil Data Systems in Los Angeles, CA. more

Hewlett-Packard has announced the HP T350 Color Inkjet Web Press, capable of printing nearly 4,000 letter-sized pages per minute and demonstrated several Designjet, Indigo, Scitex and Specialty Printing Systems at Graph Expo 2010 in Chicago. The company also reported its customers have increased print volumes significantly in the past year. Collective page volumes for the Indigo 7000 series presses, for example, grew 90% year-to-year for third quarter 2010. more
Grandville Printing Company (Grandville MI) has installed an HP Indigo 7500
Digital Press. The company bought the new press to handle rapidly
growing new business, driven by a Web-to-print ordering
system developed in consultation with HP IT and business development
staff. more
EskoArtwork and Hewlett-Packard have extended their strategic partnership to include
the HP Scitex Large Format Division. The two companies have agreed to co-market
integrated workflow solutions specifically tailored for the sign and
display market. more
RPI Inc, a leading North American producer of photo books and other photo
specialty products, has purchased an HP Indigo W7200 Digital Press
specifically adapted for the photo market. RPI purchased the press at
the Ipex trade show in the United Kingdom in May. Installation is
scheduled for July and will include an in-line Hunkeler POPP6 Finishing

Hewlett-Packard has announced availability of HP ElectroInk White for
the new HP Indigo 7500 Digital Press, expanding the press's
capabilities, market, and business potential. The announcement follows
positive early reception of HP ElectroInk White for commercial and
packaging applications on HP Indigo press 5000 and 5500 models three
months ago. HP ElectroInk White for the Indigo 7000 presses is expected to become available
in the first half of 2011. more
