alfa CTP systems Inc. of Tewksbury, Massachusetts and alfaQuest Technologies of Lake Zurich, Illinois have announced the companies will combine operations. The Massachusetts and Lake Zurich facilities will remain open and the product lines will remain the same. The new entity will operate under the name of alfa CTP

ECRM and Dotline GMBH to Bring Platesetter to America

ECRM Inc. and Dotline GmbH have signed an agreement licensing ECRM to manufacture the Dotline NEWSmax high-speed newspaper CTP line in Tewksbury, MA. This agreement extends a contract between the companies supporting ECRM’s release of the NEWSmax high-speed violet CTP systems for newspapers through ECRM’s worldwide dealer network. ECRM is currently engaged in the start-up of the manufacturing operation. more 

ECRM and Dotline GMBH Partner to Product Newspaper CTP System

ECRM Imaging Systems and Dotline GmbH have announced worldwide release of the NEWSmax line of high-speed newspaper CTP machines. The new machines will provide production speeds up to 400 plates-per-hour. The ECRM-Dotline partnership will allow ECRM to provide a broader range of CTP systems to cover the needs of different newspapers. The new machines will be shown at IFRA. more

Luescher to Exhibit Computer-to-Plate Systems at Labelexpo

Luescher will feature its Multi DX and XPose! Flex hybrid platesetters at Hall 7, Stand M50 at Labelexpo in Brussels September 28 to October 1. The hybrid technology can produce print plates for flexography, offset, letterpress, and rotary screen printing from one platesetter. The company will also provide information on the new direct exposure of letterpress print plates process without an ablation layer and special solutions for coating plate production. more

Agfa Graphics will introduce the :Amigo TS, the next generation of the :Amigo ThermoFuse plate that runs up to 50% faster than the original :Amigo, at IPEX in Birmingham, UK, May 18-25. The :Amigo TS has improved image contrast and a run length of 200,000 impressions without post baking; it can be baked for longer runs. more

Glunz & Jensen Sells PlateWriters to German Armed Forces

Glunz & Jensen, working through German dealer Medianetics Gmbh, has sold 10 PlateWriter presses to the German Armed Forces. The Platewriters will be used for print-on-demand print runs of training material, manuals, and internal organizational information for specific bases and other locations. more

Shanghai Daily Pioneers Agfa Graphics Violet Chemistry-Free Plate Technology

The Jiefang Daily in Shanghai is the first newspaper printer in China to use the Agfa Grapnics' N92-VCF printing plates. The paper reports the process provides a high degree of automation, increased efficiency, and improved quality of computer-to-plate production while reducing its chemical waste by 50%. It's next step is to move to full CTP production. more
